Hey,
I've got a computer that shuts down straight after the XP loading screen and also when you try and enter the recovery console of the XP cd.
Ive tried the following:
Run memtest86
run hdd diagnostic disc
swap the sata hdd out with a standard ide hdd with xp installed
checked hardware temperatures etc.
after trying all of the above the problem still remains any ideas?
Cheers,

Hi,
First unplug all the external devices like printer, camera, headphone and speaker with the computer. Then start the computer. If the problem doesn’t get solved then open the CPU box and “RAM”. There would be some carbon particle on “Ram Jack”. Try to clean this with cotton and attach the Ram on other port.
If the problem is not solved then apply the third method, Reinstall the OS. It should be Reinstalled, do not use recovery console method.
I’m sure the problem will get solved.
