I have NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card installed on my system and I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I was using the driver which came with came with my graphics card pack. It was working good and I was able to get Aero effect on my windows 7. But I thought to update my driver. So, I visited nVidia website driver download page (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us) And downloaded the latest driver from my windows 7 64 bit.
After downloading the latest driver, I installed the driver. But after installing the latest driver, I started getting many graphics related prblem and Aero was also not working. I was getting following error message.
"The NVIDA Display Panel extension cannot be created."
The probem was actually because of driver. That driver was not compatible for my windows 7 and it so was creating problem. So, Here is the best method to update your nVidia graphics card in windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit). The best method is update via "windows update:.
Open Drivice manager.
Start >> Right Click "Computer" >> Select Properties.

Than click "Device manager".

Right click your graphics card and select update driver.

The update windows pop will come. Select "Search automatically for updated driver software", and let the windows search for latest stable driver for your windows 7. Make sure your system is connected to internet.

If there is any update required, your windows 7 will automatically find, download and install it.
