Do you use Gtalk??

Anybody using Google talk? I use it occasionally . Do you think it will takeover yahoo messenger in IM ??

i also use gtalk..
but lemme tell that it is no where near to yahoo....
there are less smilies support and many other features which is lacking....
But gtalk has the biggest advantage that we can chat in our gmail itself....
so a boon to college and school students...
i know that there is also this option in yahoo but it requires latest browser and flash support ...

Yes i use it often. Inspite of being simple and having less feature i like it because it is light and eats very less of your speed.

yes i use since its integrated with my gmail..it lacks features but google is know for its KISS(Keep it simple stupid) interface...

:idea:GTalk works for me for a lot of reasons other than just chatting:

1. Integration with email
2. reply via chat from gmail
3. automatically logging all messages in your gmail inbox (tons of space in gmail anyway)
4. A lesser known fact is GTalk is built on open standards (Jabber) and therefore you dont have to fear being locked in like MSN or Yahoo or Skype. I have been a YIM user for almost 6 years now and its great but hey - open standards are the way to go. And also you have 'Gaim' in case you want to integrate. :idea:


Smileys are the most attractive features in YM and once you have used them, it really gives a dull look to the Gtalk.

I need to do talking regarding some thing personal and some times I forgot what I chatted.But with Gtalk no problem I can have a look at what I chatted before.So this is my best feature i think for Gtalk.

yep i think so gtalk is the best messenger available because it supports orkut and gtalk lacks some feature like login as invisible that is available in yahoo messenger.
and video and sound quality is much better then yahoo messenger.
and is easy to download.

Gtalk can be a gr8 utility. But pity that google doesn't take it seriously. It should add some features to it. Most people use gtalk because gmail has a gr8 user base and its light. Plzz google do some thing abt gtalk.

no .. i dont use it specially ... it opens automatically in orkut ...
and never gtalk cant over take on yahoo
