What softwares do you use for converting a video from one format to the other?

I use Total Video Converter and I think it's brilliant! It has around 20 video format's compatibility.
And the best part is that it can convert FLV format to any other including mobile formats. Also, it can convert videos into animated GIF files so you can use them on your websites/ signatures/ avatars etc.
It's pretty cheap too!
What about you? What do you use?

I use Pinnacle Studio 11 Ultimate Edition and I feel that it is the best video editing software ever. Easy to use interface , thousands of transitions ( for which i have to pay again but there are quality FX). A nice investment.
I have also used Ulead Video Studio 11 and Windows movie maker but i still say that Pinnacle is the best
