can quickTime player play most video formate. I doubt they can play.

I like VLC player. It's small, doesn't cost anything, and is reliable. Plays most formats. It's my #1 choice as universal player!!

I'd rate TheKMPlayer as the best amongst all of these. It feautres numerous beginner to advanced options to tweak every aspect of multimedia files.

Again I doubt Quictime player plays all type of files.
